Easter. What can I say? I love Easter. It's my favorite
holiday right after Columbus Day. Wouldn't that be a great
dinner party? Christ and Columbus? Or even a great
detective show? Anyway, I'm completely getting away
from my Easter narrative.
I was driving from Abilene to Arlington with much
elated anticipation. What would this Easter hold? I
know that last Easter I had some problems with the
family because they said I was too old to be participating
in the Easter egg hunt. My main argument was that I
had a gun and bullets with each one of their names on
it. Guess who got the most eggs. Yep, me.
At any rate, this Easter was going to be different. I was
not going to make Grams cry this year. When we finally
arrived it was good to see the entire family (which I hadn't
seen since last Easter). Somehow though there was
a mistake. I was told to be there at 3, but somehow
everyone else was told to be there at 1 for lunch. However,
I talked everyone into having a "Second" Easter lunch,
cause hey, that's what Jesus would have done.
So we were all sitting around discussing our views on life
and the true meaning of Easter when Grams brings up
Nietzsche. I was like, "Nietzsche, please!" and proceeded
to force upon them my nihilistic views. Unfortunately
Grams did cry this year, but who cares? I mean she
can't even walk.
Where was I? Oh yeah. While I was inside debating
with Grams and her nurse, the rest of the family managed
to sneak outside and have the egg hunt. Needless
to say, I was not pleased, but before I could even say
anything, everything started to get really blurry and I
sorta vaguely remember knocking over the dessert table
as I fell to the ground.
I woke up in my car about 4 the next morning already
half way between Arlington and Abilene, my pants stained
and my gun was missing. So I drove back home.
