SO SYFY CHANNEL.
Eureka was cute but nothing that I really loved a lot, although Fargo was damn awesome.
The S3 premiere was perfect. Per.Fect. From Claudia channeling Artie while introducing Jinks to the Warehouse, to MYKA to "You were uncharacteristically restrained in the face of all that . . . coldness".
Steve Jinks! I was pretty apprehensive about him (not in the least because I expected Myka to be gone longer) but I should have had more faith. I think he's going to fit into their family well, although it'll take some time. I also tentatively ship him/Myka a little bit. Aww nerdlove.
"I tried on Abe Lincoln's hat and tried to free Mrs. Frederic." Oh GOD how I laughed at that and also the line about Shakes' actor changing lines and how "writers must hate that" because I have listened to the commentaries. I love that Eddie pretty much plays himself. Whether that means Eddie is an expert on sports and porn . . . oh, who am I kidding?
ALSO HOW CUTE WERE MYKA'S GIANT GLASSES?
I'm intrigued that it looks like we're doing a full story arc, with what appears to be a secret society and shit. Good times!
Mostly I'm glad to have my TV family back--and whole! I feel so at home with the Warehouse and it looks like this season is no different.
So I heard about Alphas because
physicslinguist loves David Strathairn and GODDAMN if I don't like it! The pilot ran a little slowly at first but it was a good introduction to our X-Men team: Nina, with the power of sexy hypnotism! Rachel, with the power of super-senses! Gary, who lives in an iPhone commercial! Bill, with the power of tokenism! Hicks, the angsty new guy! Dr. Lee Motherfuckin' Rosen, who is incredibly mellow and kinda foxy and totally needs to hang out with Artie!
(
Physicslinguist and I will be starting the Bearded Men with Glasses Appreciation Society. You're welcome to join.)
Seriously, I am very impressed by this show and think it's going to be another fabulous SyFy original series.
Conclusion: SyFy Channel, your number one stop for fantastic ensemble casts and bearded bespectacled men. My love for you only grows.
