I really hope they don't reinstate the draft. If they do...

...anybody up for a trip to San Fran for Pride Week? 8D Or maybe Lesbian Woodstock the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival?

I might. Though I just remembered that being in therapy for as long as I have could disqualify me just as easily as having a case of the open gay... so we shall see.

And I'd be dragging my partner with me, hopefully you wouldn't mind? XD

Nah XD We can all invade together. Except like... peacefully... cause that's the point!

They won't reinstate the draft. The Joint Chiefs of Staff aren't stupid, and draftees don't make an effective fighting force. Not to mention popular opinion of such policy. Bringing up the topic of the draft is a politician scare tactic.

Thanks for reminding me! I have a tendency to panic when I hear about stuff like that and things like what miiko_ashida posted about earlier.

By the way, I mailed the Christmas cards a while ago, has yours arrived yet?

Not yet, but I'm out of the state right now. I'll check when I get back home Sunday afternoon.

In some ways I wish they would. Because it would make people realize what is going wrong.

But isn't it sad? During WWI and WWII people didn't mind the draft. And war really did affect everyone, if just to make a victory garden and save on sugar. Now the war doesn't really affect us at all, except in that it might make our taxes higher.

I would be willing to be drafted, if we really were fighting a just war. Even now, I might be willing to fight for my country. Because as much as I hate the war we're in now, it terrifies me to think of just leaving the middle east unstable, especially now that its our responsibility.

Apparently they're going to make it gender-equal, if it gets out of scare-talk this time 'round. Can't say I'm surprised, honestly.

Yeah, that's why I'm never going. It's run by some really screwed up people! ('Sides, paying $400 to be there and still having to do a shift of kitchen work or some crap? Uh, NO.)
