well, needless to say, the trip was really amazing, i had loads of fun and adventures and memories and am covered with scratches all over the place, and am actualy not tan except for my arms and legs. it's an amazing country.
THINGS DISCOVERED/CONCLUSIONS/STATEMENTS after 21 days in NZ:
-the NZ accent is by far the cutest in the entire world of accents.
-NZ people (called Kiwis) have a wierd obsession with popping their collars...though they are not even remotely preppy, or attractive for that matter.
-their big cities are exactly the same as American cities. un exciting, but good shopping.
-bought like, nothing, the entire trip, except for chocolate. They have the best chocolate in the world I gotta say, except for maybe Germany or Holland or something.
-being without computer is really quite relaxing.
-I finished three novels over the course of the trip, and memorized only 7 pages of Proof.
-boys there are impossibly nice and un-shy and want to make friends with an American girl and think my accent is cute...except, i dont have one.
-people there say fuck a lot. especially teenage boys showing off.
-Reggae is popular, bob marley is a hero.
-sitting on the bow of a very fast boat in very bad weather on very large waves results in huge bruises on my tailbone.
-walking 8 miles a day in paradise isn't as bad as it sounds.
-they have no ozone layer there, so the burn time in NZ is 7 minutes. 7 minutes in the sun and you're like a lobster.
-DISCOVERED FAT FREDDY'S DROP AND IM IN LOVE. AHH.
-the water looks like its out of pictures of the caribbean and the mountains are like green cloth.
-SHEEP ARE SO ADORABLE. and everywhere.
-my family there, a family of 5, they are impossibly cool and fun and free and awesome and their pool is beautiful and they have a giant pig as a pet, Hamlet, he is so fat that he is blind from excess skin. he has tusks and smells bad.
-i have list of their wierd words, including "Togs" for bathingsuit, "Mozzies" for mosquitoes, "plasters" for band-aids, "good on you" = good for you...etc.
well its an amazing and beautiful and breathtaking country, free and SO relaxed and laid-back, wild and pretty and ancient and scenic and hot but NEVER humid, like in the 70s or 80s all the time, dolphins sighted a lot and sting rays swimming where we're swimming.
but i seriously started to miss home towards the end of it. 3 weeks is a lot.
ive got 354 pictures to show you all...
