A pirate costume is a brilliant idea! You have my support, Sir! (And my vote if there's a contest...) What period are you aiming for? What kind of pirate will you be, sir? You should be the captain and wear a tricorn hat. What they wore in POTC is really amazing, I mean, that was truly impressive. Don't you think? If you want to be authentic though, you don't need any of those. It's really hard to move around with their costumes. It's just a hindrance when you're out at sea. It would be more authentic if you don't bathe for a couple of days... Ah but this is just a Halloween party isn't it? No need for that. It offends people...
