Wait, what day is it?

I am back from my ninja trip to LA. I didn't get to see any fandom friends, and I didn't adjust to the time zone even a smidge, but I did have a good trip. I went to the YSF Glee Biggest Show for the third time, which was great as always. I adore that charity, and one of its founders and I have a lot of random things in common, so we always end up chatting a bunch at the reception afterwards. This year was a bit better organized for the crowds of fans than it was last year, but it was still quite a crush around the actors. I don't enjoy that.

The high point of the night for me was definitely getting to talk with Andrea Medina, who works in the costume department of Glee. Y'all know I'm obsessed with how the clothes in the show tell part of the story (heck, I've written fics about it), so it was a real treat for me to get to thank the people who actually make that happen, you know? And she was a delight and I think really touched that people notice. :)

I also took just a regular Paramount lot tour this year (unlike the amazing Glee set tour Stoney and I took in season four), and it turned out to be phenomenal, because Glee has taken over part of the New York backlot as its own, so I got to walk up to the Spotlight Diner doors and along the sidewalks and stoops and things they film on. That was unexpectedly fun, and the rest of the tour was full of so much film history that I knew (like seeing the soundstage where they filmed Top Hat). We also got to see the Glee base camp and into the Glee soundstages a little bit, as they were building some big new sets and had the doors open while doing so. No idea what they were, but still! Exciting. :)

I didn't have a ton of time to relax, but having breakfast out on our patio overlooking the Santa Monica coastline with a pod of dolphins swimming around feeding was pretty darn nice. Also, there was no snow. Huge points for that.

AND TOMORROW IS NEW GLEE! I know the fandom is probably spoiled like six or seven episodes ahead at this point, but I am not, and I'm really looking forward to seeing these lovelies back on my screen tomorrow! Can't wait to see what is coming! (And please do not spoil me.)

squee with me, fm in rl
