Hello. I've read this a couple of times, because for some reason for such a simple fic it's giving me thinky thoughts. I must admit that at times I struggle to identify with a lot of the high school rites of passage (maybe because I'm a Brit who went to a single-sex grammar school!) and we never had proms or prom king or queen in my day. I liked this because it made me identify with Kurt and his high school experience, and the terror and humiliation he was facing (terror and humiliation we definitely had at my school!) Basically, what I'm saying is that this fic made me stop and think about the inner experience of prom for Kurt, rather than the dressing.
Thank you! I do think the topic is thinky, and I'm delighted that I was able to help you get a little more into the headspace of what Kurt faced.
Not everyone in the US even has proms like this, I should say. I went to a co-ed prep school, and we had prom but no queen or king, just like we had football teams but no cheerleaders. But bullying and cliques transcend all of the differences, I think.

Oh, but that last line made me sad.

The line made me sad, too. :(
