Buffy has a lot to answer for.
I mean, sure, Buffy has ruined me for most television, because I expect continuity, plot arcs, and character development. I also expect strong voices and characters who kick ass.
I also expect bad things to happen when people are happy, heroes to die without warning, and the world to be hard sometimes.
But mostly Buffy has ruined me because even after all these years I still think of quotes from the show while watching other shows (or reading fic about them).
