Twitter and Tumblr, or Things Wot I Don't Understand
I've been using Twitter for a while now to follow various famous people, because I got really annoyed reading them through RSS through LJ. I've been using the Twitter web interface, but for some reason it doesn't show @replies on the main page, which kind of defeats the purpose if you want to read, say, their responses to people's questions when they're doing Q&A... so then I have to have their separate pages open, and clearly I am doing something wrong.
Should I just be using a Twitter app? If so, any suggestions? Can I get @replies on my timeline, or am I doing something completely wrong?
And then I started a Tumblr this morning, because I just don't get it and decided I won't unless I try it, and I can't even figure out how to see the activity on the tags I marked to follow... Where's my friends page? Do. Not. Understand.
Help me out?
(And, no, I am not migrating anywhere. I will be staying here. I just want to understand and use them for my own nefarious purposes.)
