Fic: Shades of Grey - Spike/Wesley - NC-17

Last summer in the middle of the night while rocking a crying museling I began to think about what a bad day looked like for the Reality Bends boys, and this fic is what has come out of it. Many, many thanks to wesleysgirl for being awesome in many ways and for letting me let our Spike and Wesley explore some of their darker aspects. Thanks to WG, as well, ( Read more... )

I miss this 'Verse so much ::hugs the boys:: Sad in parts - poor Wesley still bends under Angel's words. So good to have that constant in Spike, who actually believes in him, faithfully and unconditionally. Nicely done!

Thank you. I miss these boys, too, though WG and I are nearly done with another massive fic with them. They are my go-to characters when I am musing about writing. I really love them. I'm glad other people do, too. :)

Yeah, this is pretty sad, I think, especially for Wes. He can still be hurt by Angel's judgments, and deep down he still hates in a way how dark he has been and can be, even though he embraces it as useful. Spike isn't so torn by it all, even if he has had to come to the realization that he isn't the good guy he thought he was before, say, "Seeing Red." But he does believe in Wesley and the good they both do. I think that unwavering love is good for Wesley. He really can't do much to hurt Spike in any serious way, because he is so resilient when he is loved back.

Thank you very much. :) I can't seem to shake this 'verse, even though the fandom has shrunk so drastically. I love them too much. And I'm sure the next fic will be much lighter!

Thank you. I'm sure that Wesley tries to give Spike everything he needs, too, but I think Wes would think more about what it meant or whatever, both during and after the fact. Spike just acts... which, you know, isn't always a good thing, but it turned out all right here. :)

God, I really do love this story so much. I love that you weren't too afraid to take them to this interesting place and see what happened, and I think that you did a spectacular job of capturing what WOULD happen with this version of Spike and Wesley under these circumstances. It's SO GOOD.

Thank you so much, hon. I can't say I exactly enjoyed writing it, because I hate making them hurt, but it was still fun to explore this side of their relationship.

Haven't read these boys together in ages. Poor Wesley - he's so knotted up inside, so unsure....

I love that Spike trusts him, down to the bone, and Wesley believes in that trust.
Sweet. :)

Yeah, I don't think Wes can ever lose that core bit of insecurity. It has been a part of him for too long. At least Spike is unwavering in return.

Thank you!
