The making of a fanboy and fangirl...

Over the years through TV and DVD pimpage I've gotten my parents into various shows I love: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Stargate: Atlantis, due South, Farscape, the new Doctor Who, Sports Night, and others. They have repeatedly thanked me for bringing these worlds into their lives, and I've quietly smiled when my mother has peppered me with questions that I've seen my fellow fans ask on my friends list.

I mention this fact because my parents' beloved cat died a few months ago, and they've been looking for a pair in a local shelter/rescue league to adopt. The organizations are run by volunteers, so there have been some snafus with the cats being available and/or getting them into the same place as my eager parents. So they've had their sights on a couple of pairs now that haven't worked out, and lots of names have been thrown about.

Earlier in the week they were considering a pair they were going to name Merlin and Arthur, who had some eerie similarities to the two actors in Merlin. Now last night Mom e-mailed me about the pair they will probably get... and she says that they're pretty settled on calling them Drusilla and Spike. O.O

I've created fan-monsters! In fact, this naming thing might actually qualify them as a higher level of fan than I am!
