Happy Boxing Day!
I had a wonderful Christmas with my family in four separate celebrations over two days. Everybody was in good spirits and health (well, except for me on the health end, because I seem to have some sort of low-level bug), and I feel very lucky to have them all in my life.
Even though our big present was our house and thus we spent less on Christmas than we usually do, mr. muse's gifts for me were still the best I received, including The Princess Bride on DVD, season 1 of Buffy on DVD (which somehow I didn't own), a klezmer CD, Five Seasons of Angel (the book), Alton Brown's new cookbook, and a shiny new twelve inch skillet (which is stainless steel and thus can go in the dishwasher, which my beloved but hand-wash-only calphalon cannot). *beams*
I also came through for him with flying colors, because on the way up to my parents' house on Christmas morning he said "There's one thing that I really, really want, and I didn't ask for it, but if nobody knows me well enough to get it for me my Christmas will be ruined!" Now, I didn't believe the ruined part, since that's a recurring tease for him, but it did make me feel a bit of pressure. However, the first gift that I had bought for him was The Daily Show's America: The Book, which is to what he was referring, so I saved Christmas! Woo hoo!
Somebody should make a claymation special about me. ;)
And then this morning I woke up to find a Spike/Wes ficlet from wesleysgirl written for me that may very well be in the reality_bends-verse. Yay! (And if I happened to be writing a story about Spike's trials earlier on a strikingly similar day even though we hadn't talked about it, it just shows that we sometimes share a brain. I couldn't think of a more lovely person with whom to share one. :) )
