Read Morechurch practices is tithing, generally at 10% of a member's income, and fast offerings, which are used to fund a number of projects that assists the LDS community, including a church welfare system that has a network of storehouse. There is also encouragement for members to do volunteer. What I want to know is why Mr. Beck doesn't object to what could be considered by some as "communist" or "socialist" practices conducted by his church, but he has a screaming mimi fit when a similarly-structured practice is being proposed by the American government? Funny, since he seems to feel that Christianity (at least his particular brand) and our government should not be mutually exclusive.
