Hi, Everybody!
Let's see... April 11th was my last post. Alright. I'll forget a bunch of (relatively?)important things, but here's a rundown of my life.
Grades: Abnormal Psych A, Theater Practice A, German A, Stage Lighting B, Hist and Lit II B, Cognitive Psychology B. 3.43, enough to bring my cumulative to 3.29 and restore my full scholarship amount. I kinda feel like I was screwed out of an A in Stage Lighting by a minor point, but then, I don't know any German at all, so it balances out. I pretty much hated Cognitive. I don't know if it was the subject matter or the book or what, but I could not understand that material. Next semester features all theater courses, except for the completely unrelated JINS course (Cooperation, Conflict, and something-or-other). Do I keep Psychology as a major? I have the minor now, do I move on, or look for a different field?
Related topic: Most exciting thing ever! Todd (Coulter, Theater professor) sought me out to ask me to be the production dramaturge for his show, Threepenny Opera. The way he will use me, he says, is basically as an Assistant Director. He had noted my interest in Dramaturgy, and he offered me this, as well as class credit for an independant study theater class. Now I get to see exactly how much I'm interested in this stuff. Can I follow through on a whole show? Ignore the fact there aren't any jobs in this field. If I like it, I'll be fine. This makes me so happy. He also said I could audition for it, too, which is good. I probably won't, if I like being the AD, but then, I don't want to break my streak of auditioning for every show.
Employment: In addition to the Homework Helper position, this time at Schlafly Library on Euclid and Lindell, I have nearly completed my training as a Cashier at the Sam's Club in South County. They were disappointed to learn that the times I had given them were inaccurate, but that's what happens when it takes them two weeks to say anything to me. As a result, some of my Mondays through Thursdays will be insane- I work from about ten to two at Sams, get to the library and work until seven-ish, then hurry to rehearsal where the sword dancing commences.
Shameless Plugs: This summer, I will be performing in Brigadoon, to the amazement of one and all. I am a dancer, which means my rehearsals are the most intensive, and without singing. Performances will be the first week of July, starting on the fifth and continuing through Sunday. I don't even want to think about what that's going to do with my work schedule, but I suppose I should ask now. Who's interested? You all are, of course, so make plans now.
Also, don't forget to see me (maybe?) in this summer's release of "Bill", Starring Jessica Alba and Aaron Eckhart. The IMDB says it's completed, and they told me it was due out this summer. So... any day now. I'm a cancer patient. Hooray!
That's the basic stuff. If people want to do things with me, I am free Friday nights after six, and maybe Saturday or Sunday, depending on how long Sam's needs me.
Today, I worked eight hours. That's my first whole day of paid work ever. I've had some days where I was extremely busy from 7 in the morning to ten at night, but that included classes and rehearsal, which aren't quite the same. After my first whole day of paid work ever, I fall asleep after dinner, and wake up at about one, having dreamed of more very strange work. Which is why this comes to you at four in the morning. I'll get back on target.
Got all that? Good. There's going to be a quiz.
Now maybe I'll go up and clean my room. It needs it. There have been calls for it.
