So yesterday was a day for movies. A day for gritty flicks, that is. First it was blaxploitation night, complete with a Pam Grier double feature, fried chicken, and don't forget my favorite movie snack, popcorn with orange juice. So Coffy had way more gratuitous boobs -n- violence than did Foxy Brown, but Foxy herself could kick some mad ass. It's great to see these old low budget nasty films and appreciate Grier's performance in Jackie Brown on a whole new level. And since I don't own Jackie Brown (yet (with the yet implying that I wanted to own it but haven't really had the chance to)) I popped in the next best thing - Pulp Fiction. I do believe Pulp Fiction to be the "coolest" movie ever made. It's so fucking hip it hurts. And so, in honor of the great Vincent Vega, I have decided to name my character in my blaxploitation homage Vincent. Plus, people used to call me that when I had a beard because I look like the late great Vincent van Gogh.
Anyway I've been working on some ideas for this film...I was going to do it for fun, but now I think I may trade it with the quasi-serious-twentysomething flick I was going to shoot for my grad school portfolio. We shall see...this one has so much potential though...
