Though I'll try to explain :D
At RGS (Ripon Grammar School, my high school, for the uneducated), we had a really WICKED head boy. He was called George. He got applause after his impromptu speeches. He could persuade people to do anything. He was funny and cheerful and rather disorganised at times. He was obsessed with cricket. He was, in all, pretty fab.
There was a light-hearted campaign for him to have an office on the Admin. corridor, next to the offices of the Headmaster, the Deputies, etc.
He was known as 'God'. Well, occasionally. Mostly in the 'George is God' sense.
Now you know.
So when I say that the head of my Creative Writing department is a guy called George Green, you may understand why he is now known, to me at least, as George the God. Everyone knows him as George anyway. His lectures are funny and helpful (the BEST dry humour EVER). He is a writer. He likes Irish mythology, like me. He likes films, like me. And graphic novels (ditto). He's interested in the origins of stories and stuff. He loves stories, like me. I laugh at his sense of humour. All in all, he is pretty damned awesome.
Therefore, he is now God George mark 2.
I realise this is all rather random :D Sorry! But he is pretty wicked, and my favourite teacher-like dude so far.
Even John Schad, the wicked English lecturer, doesn't have the height of cool that George does.
I really love Creative Writing :D
PS - just realised I needed to go to Spar tonight. Damn. Oh well, I'll go tomorrow when I take my whites laundry, and make pasta in the afternoon. Then eat, then sleep.
THEN EXPO.
*dies of excitement*
