Music

This Sunday I will be attending my last California Music Merit "audition" sorta thing at CSUN. I've been playing piano since I was 4. But I decided to actually play, practice, and learn about music when I was in 3rd grade. Not because of my mother, not because of my best friend at the time, I decided that on my own. Although me and the piano did not get along very well at times, I'm going to really miss going to my private piano lessons once a week. Can you imagine that? I'm going to stop going to piano lessons after I graduate from high school. I've been going the past 9 years, it's going to be a big change. When I entered 11th grade and took AP Music Theory, I learned that my piano helped so much. Not only that, I also learned that I can learn pretty much ANY instrument because of the piano. I can tune guitars with my ears and not with a pitch or the little guitar electronic tuner. It's amazing, it's a gift. My piano teacher, she's such a warm hearted, kind lady. I'm surprised she stood by my side and dealt with me because I am such a lazy ass... there are some embarrassing/shameful things I have done like going to my piano lesson without practicing at all! But I give so much to her, and I in some respect love her. Like a mother, but of course not as much as I love my mother. She cared about me like my family. She called my mother one time because she was concerned with my future (college). I'm going to really miss her, but we both decided I will attend her piano recitals every year. I will continue playing the piano. For my graduation present I'm going to ask for a keyboard, a good one. So I can always bring it with me wherever I move to. I love the piano and I love music. Thank you to Mrs. Lu for teaching me such an extraordinary instrument.
