Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

Well, Andy and I have finished our internship! We now have exactly 1 night to pack up everything we plan to take with us to Albany--eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we drive. Not a day of down-time since the beginning of July, but we've made substantially more $$ this summer than any summer before. This will be especially good next summer when we start embarking on the rest of our lives, and need a place to house those lives (let alone feed and clothe them).

Writing has been a little haphazard lately. I think I managed to keep myself from defaulting on Critters (I put in a critique before a whole month had passed, and my account was set to "inactive"). I've actually written a few pieces (count 'em=2) since the beginning of July, but considering that one has truly become one of my favorite short tales (of mine), I'll do my best not to feel sorry for myself. I'm in the process of another one, though who knows if it will manifest itself in any particularly strong manner. Here's hoping!

Currently have three stories out circulating various magazine markets; should be hearing back from one or two of them pretty soon. I still need to edit "Gloria" (badly)--I think I'm going to bump it from beginning '39 and '40 to mid-late 40's, since my historical sources were both pretty young in 1940, but were more independent in the later years of that decade. (Here's to dominos and dancing halls!)

But that's about it--have to pack and move!
