To all my darling friends who are both QaF & Adam Lambert fans:
And I know there are a lot of you out there! etharei, sdrichey, qaffangyrl, quinn222, jenepherre, jameserin, bentrumors, ohfreckle, preston1, and the rest of you who are closet Adam fans or I'm just not thinking of at the moment...
Adam's beautiful and heartwrenching brand new song, "Can't Let You Go"* (from the latest international release of For Your Entertainment), totally sounds like a track that might have been used on QaF.
But more than that, I had immediate deja vu-like QaF flashbacks as soon as I heard it... as though it had actually been used somewhere in the show, or had been in some dream I had.
Musically it feels like it was somewhere like either the final lovemaking scene in 513, or the fireplace scene at the end of 511. But the lyrics would have worked better for either the end of 220 or in 507 when Justin leaves. Maybe the perfect spot would have been when Brian is sitting in the 'vette watching Justin amend the Stop Prop 14 posters?
Regardless of the totally QaF-apropos lyrics, the underlying rhythmic backing melody of it sounds eerily familiarly QaFish.
I think it's similar to some actual QaF song that I am having trouble pinpointing? Anyone?
Am I just hallucinating this? It's kind of freaking me out a little.

ETA: The closest I'm coming so far is Mogwai's "2 Rights Make 1 Wrong" from 511 which has some similarities to CLYG in its rhythmic melody. But I think there's another one somewhere that's even closer to CLYG.
