I wish Adam had nailed that last note of his live version of "Mad World", because I'm fucking addicted to his version of this song and his live version is so much better than his studio one -- the Boleroesque crescendo of tension laid over a driving rhythm is great and his dynamics are amazing -- except for that last fucking note. Sigh.
Or perhaps I should say, I wish he'd done with the studio version what he did with it live, just longer and a little more polished. That'd be even better. The studio version's not bad, but it doesn't have the tension and the spark of the live one, it's more plodding than driving, and they've taken a lot of the richness out of his voice with the processing as well.
