Eeee! Russell/Ed makes me so happy! This is a sweet story, and I liked the way you wrote Ed. I liked Russell's line (if you're alone and I'm alone) too, it seems like the kind of thing he'd say, but I'd have had him deliver it differently. In fact, you've inspired me and now I'm forced to write the drabble that's just appeared in my head.

See, the way I see it, Russell is arrogant as hell to cover up his insecurity, whereas Ed is just obliviously overconfident of his own abilities, but completely clueless about interpersonal stuff. Russell really, really wants to look cool in front of Ed. So here's my version, for the nonce. I make no guarantees of quality; I do write for a living, but not fiction, because, well, I suck at it. As you're about to see.
