My boss decided to start doing these training workshops to help everyone know their jobs better. It would have been better if they regularly do this whenever they open a new store, but that hasn't occured to them. Maybe it will, since other managers have decided it's a good idea and they'll start doing it at their stores. So after working from 9 to 5 yesterday, I had to go back at 9 pm. We were also given our evaluations, which was a greater reason for going in that late. I did good, the manager said doing magazines every week is the perfect spot for me and all that good stuff. The bad part was the training crap took so long we didn't get out of there until 1 am. Those kinds of things are only supposed to last for two hours. There's probably something illegal about that. The assistant manager's husband and a co-manager's husband were not happy. And no one thought it good that the manager's five year old daughter was awake the entire time. Mandy never tries finding a babysitter for her daughter, so the girl is always at the store when not at school.
After my awesome five hours of sleep, I went back to work. Snow had fallen, but the time I realized it, I couldn't shovel the driveway or sidewalk. Then, in the afternoon, we started getting a bit more snow, but mostly wind. Gusts are averaging between 40 and 50 mph, with occasional stronger ones. The doors to the bookstore were flying open and snow was getting on a couple tables. It's nuts out there.
