Last night I went to the Muir's home yet again for their annual BRUU-Year (I renamed their New-Year Party... And no, they don't know yet) Party, I can't even remember how long we've been going to this thing. It can't be very long, but it just seems like the only way to ring in the new year. (another thing, the amount of people my age seems to diminish every year. *sigh* growing up */sigh* ) So they got a new screened-in-porch this year, and surely enough, I HAD to try it out. I spent a fair amount of time just sitting on a couch and thinking about this past year, the people I met, the people I have still not met. The experiences I've had and the good (and bad) times yet to come. Then I smiled. I was thinking about the people that have touched me and those I've likely left some small imprint on and it made me smile. Then PROMPTLY the herd of middle aged BRUU'rs (Bull Run UU) with drums started beating their drums and followed a procession of people with small slips of paper to burn in a trash can, on them written things that their authours wished to leave behind in 2006. The party quickly retreated back inside because of the rain though. (*thinks to self* man this is one poorly written and extremely disorganized paragraph*shrugs*) So then I guess the ball dropped and I drove Ryan home because his sister (these are both small children who go to my church BTW/FYI/ETC) wanted to go home early and sleep and they are somewhat on the way home. So I drove a small child home in the rain on a night where you are (Insert frightening unreliable statistic here) more likely to get hit by a drunk. (Did I mention it was raining REALLY hard ?!?!?) But anyway, all went well and it was really awesome to be trusted like that ! (Skip ahead to the next day !)
So, another year. I woke up this morning to the sound of rain, a sweet beautiful cleansing sound. I started thinking about how this past year I've grown in more and more ways than I can begin to comprehend. The people I've met and the things I've done (Do you see a recurring theme ?) And the thing I've yet to do. I started thinking about how this past year has gone a little more bumpy than I could have wished and the next one, this one... Is going to be so much better.
Things I Did

-Went to UUMAC.
-Went to GA. (Applied (still pending) For GA Caucus staff)
-Got a position as UUMAC webmaster! (I swear the site is ready but it's pending when the guy who owns the webspace CALLS ME BACK
!)(I also got a stipend ! so I can afford UUMAC next year !)
-Got on DYSC.
-Grown through the CON community
-Met amazing people and had great conversations with them
-Discovered a love for Tea
Things I wish I didn't do

-Distanced myself from the UUMAC community while I was there.
-"Not My Homework"©
-Didn't spend my time at GA STL as well as I could have. (too anti-social, too sleepy)
-Didn't do as great of a job on DYSC as I could have. (i.e. Only doing what I was asked. Which took less than an hour thus far.)
-Separated myself from the Con Community. (i.e. I need to play more Wink)
-Didn't build stronger connections with those I met.
-Drank Pu-Erh. It's crap, IDC what people say.
Things I am looking forward to doing.

-Getting closer to the UUMAC peoples

-GA PORTLAND ! (Hopefully on staff *crosses fingers*)
-working harder on DYSC next time around (again *crosses fingers*)(although I'm not too scared I'm going to lose it ?)
-Getting closer to people at cons !
-TRYING TO BE A BETTER FRIEND.
-going to teasource.com and finding my favorite variety !
*edit* Losing weight and getting fit enough to get through COPE this year at camp !
