Man, I hate screwed-up dreams.
It was autumn; almost Halloween, and "we" were walking through a small town, watching the leaves blow and smelling ripe apples on the air. There was a little down festival going on in one place, and there was a decrepit old man walking around with a sign that said:

So, am I reading this right? I split before things got really freaky? Sounds very like me; I loathe circuses (it's a clown thing).
GAH! It was sort of funny at first, but, no, halfway through, that got creepy. I can't even BEGIN to offer an interpretation for that.

I'm with you on the clowns. I find them a huge creepy iconic thing. And even just "circus performer", etc...freak shows...it's all shivery and twisted.
I maybe should have posted this in the dream LJ comm I belong to, but I was trying so hard to get most of it down before it faded away. I'm not really trying to interpret it--some of those in the dream aren't really friends of mine, like Shay, and I think the morphing/altering people is just a symptom of being ill and possibly running a fever.
Let's say I HOPE you left. You slid up into the heart of the house, so you were either far from danger or the first victim and we never knew it.
I hate nightmares.

But the ones I COULD see you as who you are, your hair was like this bright red beacon. Like when photographers enhance one single colour to bring attention to it.
