This is my take on the Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows jacket. The one in the movie is cut off higher around the waist, but I wanted mine to remain with tails over my hips. I may cut it off later and redo the bottom hem/border.
I've tried sewing off an on, I know at one time I tried to do sarongs to wear around the house because really, its a really huge freaking scarf right? My mother was a huge seamstress, I wore mostly homemade clothes through school (and in the eighties that got your ass kicked a lot because jordache was god) and even when I worked (where I also got mocked and even written up for not having a professional appearance.) I think a lot of it for me is my eyesight and being lefthanded, plus with the discalcula all the numbers and measuring and dear god patterns? **Runs away screaming in horror**
I would love to design clothes, especially for people with unusual body shapes and sizes as I have (very short legs and arms, just barely off from dwarf proportions, extremely long torso. Standing next to the ex he was a foot taller than me, sitting next to each other we were the same height, if that gives you any idea. I'm also built like tank, wide wide shoulders and wide wide hips, no matter what I weigh. My mother used to harp on my weight until my doctor had exrays made and did measurement and informed her my SKELETON would not fit into a size twelve pair of jeans, and if she kept on I would develop and eating disorder and she'd get to see those size 12 jeans on me in a coffin.

I loved that doctor.
