I keep cracking up at the Capital One commercial that makes reference to "WAR kittens!?!"

It's not the commercial, it's the way the guy says "WAR kittens!?!"

These are what I think of as 'War Kittens':

I'm not clicking ANY of those links! I don't want any songs getting stuck in my head thank you. I got into Led Zeppelin on my honeymoon of all things. It was one of those " Where have these songs been all my life?" moments. It's not often that you hear music that is still fresh sounding from back in the day. Or, rather, back in the day before I was even born anyway. *whispers* And, dare I say, I like them waaaaaay better than The Beatles. Going to wash my mouth out with soap now... ; )

*whispers* Were you a groupie? ; )

NO.

I was a professional photojournalist.

I hate the fact that modern culture has picked up on the term "groupie" and uses it in the wrong way.

You didn't, but it gets tiring that the modern conception is:

All females backstage are whores and
All fans are groupies and therefore whores.

There are LOTS of reasons for women to be present backstage, including working as a caterer, working for the promoter, being a stagehand, being a family member or friend of a musician, working in the music business (music shop, music distributor, music journal, record company, radio station), real fans who have won the passes from a promotion or have a special deal in the band's fan club.

Jumping to the conclusion that a woman backstage is there for sexual reasons is just too easy and often too wrong.

Well I should have been clearer when I typed that comment up. I was asking half in jest, hence the wink, and the other in horror like "OMGoodness please tell me this isn't possibly true.". I read alot of books on rock history and beat poetry history and my mind alway tends to slip into dark places when I hear about a woman being around a rock band or beat poet/scene. I should expand my mind/horizons some more as you can see.
