my life

Well the past month has certainly been busy. The following few will continue in the same manner.

To begin, Justin and I are still doing well. 14 months (well on the 30th) and still going strong. We've decided to get in shape for Cancun, so we've been going to the park to run pretty much every day. It's nice, because I feel accomplished and good about myself afterwards. I think I might actually get toned up and in shape. Plus, I get to spend extra time with Justin (even if we are skanky and gross from working out). Over spring break, we (along with Randy and Ren) are going to take a mini-trip to Louisville to see This Providence and Gym Class Heroes in concert. That should be fun. Then after that is graduation and senior trip. Only 69 days left till we're dancing on the tables in Coco Bongo! Wahoo!!

Also, school has kept me going with all the different competitions of sorts. There's been the whole Senior Salute process (holla!), math field day, and HOSA. At regional math field day, I got 7th. I'm not going to state though because I have prom. To me, senior prom is quite a bit more important than a nerd convention, I mean, math competition. At HOSA, I got 1st in dental terminology. I can go to nationals, but I already have Wicked tickets for June 21st, so I'm gonna skip out on that one. I'd much rather see the play.

Speaking of prom, I have my dress. Well, I ordered it, but I'm short so they had to hem it. I should be able to pick it up within the next week though. It's orange, which is snazzy for 2 reasons. 1. I've always wanted an orange dress. 2. Justin doesn't have to look for any matching shades of pink or purple.I'm pretty pumped that the theme is Hollywood. It just seems to fit. Best friends: The movie group. Prom theme: Hollywood. Graduation place: The Keith-Albee. What could be better? Also, I found the perfect flower. It's called the confetti rose. It's the kind thats naturally orange and yellow. It'll match perfectly. Plus I figured some ting-ting (pretty silvery sparkly pieces) would snazz it up just right. ;-)

I think my parents are finlly getting back to being healthy again too. At the beginning of February, my mom fell out of bed and broke 2 ribs. She went back 5 weeks later and they were healed. Well during the same week, my dad was taking antibiotics for a sinus infection. Turns out, it was acute glaucoma. They did emergency laser eye surgery to relieve the eye pressure. The right eye did fine, but the left eye didn't. He was supposed to go in last Tuesday for another checkup but ended up having emergency cataract surgery last Monday instead. So now he's healing from that. Everything's going as it should though. That's a big blessing because that's not always the case.

At math field day I met a girl who did get the Yeager scholarship. All I have to say is thank God I didn't get it with her. She was a stuck up bitch and I probably would've gone crazy if I had to be around her constantly for 4 years. You have fun doing as many research papers and speeches as your heart can handle, Miss Brag-about-it. And no, I'm not bitter, I'm fine with not making it. I wasn't even going to apply in the first place. It just got on my nerves how cocky she was. It was almost like you-know-who had come back.

My scrapbook's coming along. I've even got a few pages finished. Now only about a ton left.

I know I've said it before, but I think I'm going to try and get a job for the summer. All of my other friends already have jobs, so I'll be bored out of my mind as well as lonely every day. Well, since I don't want to be bored or constantly stuck at home by myself while everyone else works, I think a job might fix that problem. I'm thinking about trying again at Copley's as well as Foodland, American Eagle, PacSun, and who knows what else. I'd be open for suggestions on this one. I just don't want to work in a food place. One, I'd probably eat too much. Two, I don't want to smell like grease afterwards every day.

Until next time. -Katy
