I managed to gain access to what's left of Silvermoon's records, but my initial search proved fruitless. There was no order to the records - at least, none that I could discern, which made trying to find anything specific akin to looking for a needle in a large haystack. Fortunately, one of the keepers directed me to someone who could possibly help - a seasoned gentleman named Andrefen who'd done some work in trying to sort the records out.
Andrefen and his young companian - Sedian Rodessai, if memory serves - proved to be quite interesting, decent people. Sedian seemed to be about my age, maybe a little younger, and a fighter too, if I'm any judge of appearances. Perhaps I could talk him into sparring sometime. I haven't been focusing on my own training lately as much as I should. It might give him a break from worrying about his mentor's health, too - Andrefen doesn't seem particularly well, but he's too stubborn to see a priest about it.
Illness aside, Andrefen proved very helpful. He found several documents regarding my brother in a fraction of the time it would have taken me. All old documents, of course, but it's a starting point at least, and they've helped me find a few more documents so far. I need to go back again and continue searching later. He refused any payment, too, claiming that it was enough to just be able to get out of the house for a while. For all his claims though, I believe Andrefen just liked feeling useful. I get the impression he's been spending far too much time indoors with little to do. I think I'll ask for his help again soon.
