went to the high this morning. annie leibovitz is truly fantastic. seeing all of her photos up close, blown up and in person was brilliant. the louvre exhibit kind of sucked actually. i don't really like that era of art anyway, though the king louis collections of 'decorative arts' (ie: all the crazy expensive, ornate shit that had decorating all of the palaces for generations) was interesting. the new wing of the high is beautiful and houses a whole section of contemporary artists, my personal fav. there were some cool installation pieces, some odd ones, and one particularly beautiful larger-than-life realistic painting of a young man dressed in slacks rolled up at the ankle and suspenders over his rumpled dress shirt... think huck finn, but older. it was captivating. i've forgotten the artists name, but i'll figure it out.
otherwise, the cd's arrived. elation. and the last post worked to quell the seemingly ill-intentions of those aforementioned fair-weather friends.
