I get bored with writing and then all these events go crazy and I end up just highlighting stuff. So, I suppose, the most recent excitement was Danny and the band coming to Disney.
I went to hang out with him the first day or performance or whatever. It was my week off, which was last week actually, and I believe the day be a Thursday, mateys. Arrrrrr. The first day we brought in the Dominator, a rather fun individual who was soon to be leaving us. It's sad, but I actually feel bad taking him to amusement parks sometimes because he doesn't really like to do anything there nor does he even LIKE to be there, actually, but he goes because he knows we want him to go and that's that. Oh well. We got there around noon, I believe, and then we got to wait for the band to finish their excitement with unloading and the parade.
So, basically, mom came out after the group got dismissed and we caught lunch. I am actually surprised by Disney and my faith in them has been renewed somehow. Like, I always thought the park was for children - and it is, don't get me wrong - but they got some surprising food there and some of the stuff isn't so bad. The fast pass shit needs to go, but that's about it.
Anycase, mom came out and we gave her big hugs and it felt nice. I missed her lots and I was so happy to see her again after awhile. It's funny, you can't wait to get out of the house for the first x amount of years and then as soon as you do you realize how much you miss it. Not necessarily living there, but the people you got to live with you know? You take things for granted without even realizing it and it kinda sucks. But, hey, I try to make the best of things now so that's good. =D
So, we caught lunch. I met some of her band friends. The reason she got to go was the guy that was going to go, her band husband Doug Johnson, suffered from the same thing that hit Uncle George basically but they thought it was a struck. Sadly, he actually died the day they all got into Disney. It was a subject that came up often between my mom and I and many hugs were shared between it. I had the pleasure of meeting him at least twice that I can recall and he was a very cool guy. He'll be missed.
To continue, though, they all had a meal and I'm fairly certain what I had was small if existent at all. Note: there will NEVER be enough tables open at an amusement park once food has been purchased. This is a fact of life. The band marched, everyone was cheering. It was funny, the parade. Disney basically lets the three bands that were performing go ahead separately as their own parade then Disney's actual parade happens after the bands have gone through. It's kinda ridiculous, but they have their own music thing and all of that so I can understand it.
So, Mom and I hung out with Dom and her friends and watched the whole thing and there was a CRAP load of shopping done. That is, searching, not shopping. Still, it was relatively entertaining and fun. I tried to talk Dan into the little pioneer roller coaster or whatever. But he wouldn't do it and obviously neither would Dom. Mom and I waited in line and hopped on. Wasn't TOOOOO bad but it still kinda sucked waiting, but that's Disney. So we did that (also, note, it took like FOREVER for Dan and them to pack up the truck). But, it got done eventually and we got to meet up with my brother. Hugs were given. It was nice. We caught up on some stuff, geeked out a little, and basically talked a lot about super heroes.
Dan and I got some VERY delicious lunch. We went to some place that had like some amazing chicken. They had other stuff, but we opted for that and I was BLOWN AWAY I will say. This is where all the excitement came from. I got so excited, I wanted to eat there again but alas.. we went somewhere else day 2 as we were not in that park. Oh well. Lunch was tasty. Fries were aiight, too, surprisingly.
Anycase, we went on a Winnie the Pooh ride and mom got angry at the long wait. I got to talk to Tom for a bit and we went on a Carousel and it was pretty funny. Tom looked so silly up there it made me laugh but I had a really good time. The Winnie the Pooh ride rocked, haha, it was like Cat in the Hat but way better 'cause it was Winnie the Pooh. Anyway, Tom's buddy was pretty sweet. We had some ROCKIN' ice cream from somewhere. There was a huge fireworks display towards the end of the night.
The amount of people standing there was unbelievable. Literally unbelievable. It was like bumper-to-bumper traffic but with human beings. Tom kept getting rammed with two-person strollers too and he was getting angry. I was laughing a bit, but I felt bad for him.
Mom and I did some magic carpet ride and it was really funny. We both squeezed in to some goofy seat and she was controlling the tilt part and I was controlling the up and down. It was so ridiculous and funny, I think we were laughing the whole time. Hahahaha.
We went home and it was really exhausting and our feet hurt really bad. We had to catch the ferry instead of the monorail and that was really cool. I stood up with Tom and his bud and we watched the water go and I talked with Dan a bit and it was just like.. really neat to be there. I enjoy ferry..s... lol. We had some light sunburn, but that happens without the lotion from the basket. It was all good in the hood.
Second day, Dom skipped out on so I went alone. No biggie, though he would have had more fun this day I think. I got there a little late and basically missed my mom and the gang before they could show up. We met up with Mom and started to head six different places and finally ended at the Indiana stunt show. Dan skipped out on his friends to hang with me which was really awesome of him, though he didn't have to. I was glad he did, however.
The show, as always, was pretty sweet. We watched and enjoyed it. They're talented people running those things. Later on, Dan and I caught a stunt show with cars. It was CRAZY. The whole time Dan and I were like 'WOAH, WHAT?!' and it was way sweet. They had cars driving backwards and jumping off ramps and stuff. The footage for the 'movie' they were talking about shooting all this for sucked but the car stuff was bad ass. Of course, they designed all these cars to drive in specific ways. It was cool to see how they drifted and spun and stuff. Very sweet. I wish Tom had gone with us to see it, but we were separated at the time. Oh well.
We caught some ice cream, too, the Mickey ears thing and it was pretty tasty though it tasted kinda like dark chocolate of all things. Which kinda sucked, but it was pretty tasty regardless.
There was actually just a crap load of walking done that day. There seemed to be very little to do. While waiting for them to all gather up for their parade and all that jazz, I got paired up with some kid that wasn't in marching band but was in some other band. He was neat, I forget his name but he was like way smart. Big math geek. Anycase, nice kid. We got in line for some Rock 'n Roller coaster or something ridiculous. But, the line was insanely long so we jumped in single rider line and just said F it and went that way. We got on way faster than we would have otherwise and, miraculously, actually got to sit together anyway. It was pretty funny.
Long story short, this roller coaster was unbelievable. It's like the Mummy ride but way more intense and with lots more flashy lights. Picture the Phantom, with the loops, inside. Dammit, I wanna go on it again. Hahaha. Still haven't done Space Mountain, but that's okay I suppose. One day.
When we got back, it was time to check out the award section of this whole thing. So we got in line for that (after catching the parade again - and I had to film someone's little girl for the duration which was okay.. I think it came out decently considering I had no idea who the girl was). The ceremony turned out to just be kinda silly. It was four performances and all of them were just NA band stuff. It was at the Indiana stage and I got to sit with Dan and his friends. Multiple girl performances for their dance and flag and fight teams and stuff. The first two were to ridiculous hip hop songs.
The last one was to Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. I sang to Danny for that one, put my arm on his shoulder and whispered in his ear at the appropriate place. It was.. really gay.. but VERY funny.
After that it was time to say goodbye and good night. Hugs were given all around and I missed my mom and Tom and Dan really bad as I left. I had some work to do the next day, set tear down I believe, so I couldn't show up on Saturday and I knew it as I left. I was pretty bummed out, actually, going home alone. I felt pretty lonely and homesick but talking with Johanna helped out. =D She's a cutie.
