(no subject)
so, my mum had this idea of, while i was back visiting, i take my laptop into a computer repair place and see if it's fixable.
well, like i suspected, it's not. everything is blown. the board, the monitor, the front panel and the back panel. to replace all this, it would cost around $1200, so it's kind of pointless. good news is, we might be able to claim it on my parents home and contents. i'm not hopeful though. but there was some other good news...
THE HARD DRIVE IS OKAY. HE CAN PUT IT IN AN ENCLOSURE AND IT WILL BE AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. it will cost $70 for him having looked at it and $25 for the enclosure BUT STILL!
this makes me insanely happy. therefore, this is the thing that made me happy today. :D
