Ivy covered the hollow face of an angel. Beneath my hand the gravestone was still warm from the day. The ruined village had long been abandoned and with it the small graveyard, but not one grave was as old as I. Amidst old tombs my thoughts always stray back to New Orleans. I could almost smell the jasmine and the distant clatter of horses. I ( Read more... )

I wonder why that ring is so important to Vincent-

Figures that Talamasca would get it though-they've been picking up your cast offs forever and filing them away in their vaults.

A museum of vampire trinkets.

I know, I know. David offered it all back to me. I should have said yes. I didn't want it back, but I still should have said yes to see what he did.

Where on earth would you have put it all if you did say yes to David and he did return it all to you? I mean there's gotta be alot of things. Alot of old antique things. I suppose you could have had a giant yard sale maybe made some extra cash that you don't need because you have a kings ransom already in Swiss bank accounts or something.

Does it matter? It would have been swell just to see the smile wiped off his face. Ha.

Yes, Swiss. Also in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, Luxembourg. Gotta spread it around, that's what Louis says.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. It's just stuff. Material things. Ha! I suppose you would have made David lug all that stuff to your place in the French Quarter or something. Or ship it. I can just imagine the shipping costs.

So no yard sales in the French Quarter for me to stumble upon? Not that I am there right now, I'm not, wish I were. I bet it's warmer there then it is here.

Yes, just stuff, as you say. Although, those possessions of mine do sometimes link me back to memories I would like to be able to touch again.

What would you like to buy?

Yes, it's quite pleasant here. A little rain but it's warm.

Maybe a Louis XIV chair.  Or maybe a desk - I could use a desk.

Put it on a boat?  When was this?  1790?  These days if you're shipping something overseas you put it on a plane.

Oh no! This century. I was shipping it somewhere else. I lost track of it. Who knows what happened to it. If you find it, it's yours.
