all kinds of blah

This is very peculiar. I'm reading a Wodehouse novel I've never read before, and it's boring me. I didn't know that could even happen. It's The Coming of Bill, which was first published in 1919 (in the US, under the title Their Mutual Child, for completists), and it's... strangely dull. I'm vaguely concerned about the poor child in the sterilized nursery, and I haven't laughed once. Mommy!

I know I said I'd post five HP shorts, but I changed my mind on the fifth one; I hadn't realized quite what a cliché the basic concept was, and I think it would take more than a few hundred words to actually put a personal spin on it. So. Back to the drawing-board, or rather, WIP folder.

In other cheerful news, it's raining and I should do the dishes.
