Tense, wittiness, JC, the secret santaness of other people

When you choose to write in past tense, choose to go all the way. Revel in it. Be orgiastic. Take it to the next level. Or at least make sure that you don't leave one tenth of your verbs in present tense, as this may cause sudden outbreaks of violence in your readers. Most verbs have a past tense, which can be located with only a small amount of effort on your part. Think of it as research.

The same goes for any other tense, of course. And do not, under any circumstances, color-code character dialogue and thoughts. I have knitting needles and I'm not afraid to use them.

Why don't I know these people? They could come and hang out at my place and be witty and British. Especially Emma Thompson. Failing that, hampden could come over and sleep on the floor in my spare room.

My respect for JC's thematically varied lyrics keeps on growing. A song about lap dances. My cup runneth over, Chasez, you big gorgeous freak, you.

There's a small and obscure fandom secret santa thing going on, while we tell of yuletide treasure, that looks like it's going to be fun. Go sign up! (Me? No, I don't think so. I've already signed up for dwnoga, and am considering whether I'd make a decent mentor for someone, plus I'd like to finish my AU of doom this year. (AU of doom is not as long as it sounds, or even as long as I'd like it to be. It just keeps growing new plot twists that I keep on not writing down.))

Now I'm gonna sit back and watch the GIPs go by.
