The longer I go without posting, the more reasonable it seems to go even longer without posting -- what difference would one more day make, what would I say anyway, etc

It could totally happen! They'd just have to be somewhere legally plausible... I mean here, for instance, they could pretend to be married all they liked and people would say okay sure, and then possibly slip Krycek the phone # of an abuse hotline, depending.
Okay, so I thought a bit more about that, or rather let it sit around in the back of my brain for a bit, and apparently living in Stockholm as a married couple worked for them to the point where they ended up getting actually married, with at least one of them using his legal name, but of course they couldn't tell anyone about it, because all their new friends thought they were already married. They trudged home through falling leaves and everything seemed quite anticlimactic until, late that evening, Krycek came into the living room in his pajamas and said, "You know, this is our wedding night, so you'd better get your ass to bed."
And then being married didn't feel nearly so old and been-there-done-that, after all.
I've succesfully repressed the later seasons of the X-Files, so that might very well be the reason for Mulder's absence (although having friends doesn't sound in character for either of them *g*).
But having friends when undercover is kind of like wearing the right clothes for the job... well, unless you're undercover as a hermit, I guess. *G* I bailed on XF somewhere in s6, I think. Okay, apparently I'm not even sure...
I'm almost relieved to hear you bailed, too. I fled after the "absolutely illogical murderous Santa" Samantha retcon, and I always feel vaguely guilty about it...
Which one of them? Both at the same time would be interesting, of course, with Mulder saying that of course he knows how it works in theory, all that porn, but...
Oh, I was leaving the "which one" to you. If I have to pick, hmm . . . sure, how about Mulder?
Hahahahaha, now that I look at the list again I see I should have read down to #15, because that also has great possibilities. (Bonus points if neither one is an exchange student.)
"This really isn't the best place," Mulder said tersely. "Why can't you be like a normal secret informant and want meetings in abandoned warehouses and seedy bars
