morning errands

I normally hold with the maxim:

“Everything in life is an ordeal.”

Because 9 times out of 10 it is. Big time. And I think that we as people really latch on to the negative when “a quick trip to get my oil changed turned into a broke down car and a 10 mile walk through bat country blah blah etc.” and they forget the number of times they got their oil changed and they didn’t have to fight off bands of marauders.

I bring this up because this morning I went to my first doctor’s appointment since getting on Kristen’s insurance and it was cake. Everything was on time, I got perfect parking, found the office, the dude was cool, etc. Following the appt, I went to the locksmith to get a key copied for the house and that was easy as pie. Found it. Parked out front. Dude made the keys in under a minute. In and out. Bang. Got back to the house and changed the lock on the house with no problem because my beautiful wife held on to every single piece of the lock. Cake.

Point is, that everything in life is not always an ordeal. I’ve had a very easy morning that which normally could have been a giant pain in my ass but wasn’t.

Just wanted to document a non-pessimistic moment.
