Just tell him
It was a
Dare
Verites had grown used to her friend's predatory smile and appraising eyes. It was nothing unusual. Every Friday afternoon, walking home from school, Neph would stare at her like some sort of meal, and make thinly veiled comments, while her brother watched them both with something akin to disgust. But, he never turned his head away.
Every few weeks, the twins would invite her to stay for dinner, and every few months, to spend the night. The invitation did not strike the albino girl as strange. "Of course, Nephthysia, Absinthe. I would enjoy that very much." Neph's grin would become darker, and Abby would try to comfort her with a smile. Of course, Verites needed no comfort. She had been their friend for years, she no longer feared the girl's fits.
Dinner passed without much fuss, though the twins did have to threaten tantrums to escape their usual dish duty. Eventually, Kira had relented and begun cleaning while Jacob lectured them for nearly as long as the chore itself would have taken. Every so often, he would look towards their guest, as if asking permission to continue. She always nodded, hands folded across her knees.
TBC: A gift for a friend (though why I'm doing this is totally beyond my mortal understanding).
