Matrimony

I get the feeling I've
Used that title
Before.

Horatio and Amoritia would never be married

Horatio's face wrinkled, her uncommon expression of both confusion and attention. "Married?" she asked, her eyes staring widely at the djinn. When no response was issued quickly enough, her face slackened, and she pulled the database entry up. Her unfocused eyes scrolled left to right, left to right. "'Mina, that is the single most ridiculous thing I've ever heard from you. And you say weird stuff."

The goddess rolled her eyes at the young child before her. "Perhaps it is only you who believe it to be odd. At any rate, you ought not ask questions you do not want the answers to." True, the return of the mage's soul into a new body had let her song be heard, but Aramina only had so much patience, even for her pet mortal. "Now, be silent until Amoritia comes for you, or I will have one of the children pull your head off and feed it to the animals." There was no hint of joke in her voice.

The child simply grinned and ran towards the nearest orchard.

Kalte and Fiye have an engagement, but I suspect it does not progress.

The first breath of a new day was always her favorite. Mostly, it was her favorite because for the last few months, her vision had been blurred by a sheet of shampoo scented, bubble gum pink hair. After a few more minutes, Fiye fought her way into the waking world as well.

"Do you ever wake up feeling like something important happened the night before, but you've forgotten now?" the smaller woman asked, clearly troubled. Kalte only shrugged.

"I never have, but I'll be sure to let you know."

Corinth and Cyrano live together, but they don't actually get married

Sometimes, pople asked why they didn't wed. Cyrano shrugged, and spouted a line about his swinging bachelor days, even with his daughter firmly planted on his knee. Corinth often had a better answer.

"Where we came from, it wasn't just men who weren't alllowed to marry. It was anyone. Any interest in the institution of marriage was summarily wiped out long before we made it out alive." He would smile through the words, but his tone and body language all implied that there was a horrible war story behind the answer. No one ever asked for more.

Cen and Peter do, as a result of Cen's pregnancy

This has - been beaten - half to death.

The Chandra three can't, and Navi wouldn't do it anyway.

Navi stared in vague disbelief at the explanation Mary had offered up. "Binding yourself? And to one person? Why would anyone do something that stupid?" she spluttered, her face turning red.

"I suppose you don't have an analogous ceremony, then? Not even for your Soul Mates?" the Theria had replied, her voice clinically cool.

"Certainly not. It would defeat our entire way of life. Our race would die in decades!" The more the idea sat in her mind, the more horrified it made her. And to think, she had believed she knew all of the strange, gruesome customs of the Theria.

"I see. Well, you need not worry. Marriages- if a culture has them- are mandated in different ways for different worlds. On Francesca, for example, there can be only two participants. Whereas Nereid Three allows as many as twelve. You could never be wed to us."

Mael and Julian, however, totally would.
