So, I'm wandering through the Jungle with some friends of mine. I don't recall why right now, but suffice to say, there we were, listening to all sorts of wild animals slink around, staring at huge trees, skyscraper-tall, that when they fell they could span whole rivers (of which there were a few as this was, after all, a jungle).
VERY cool.
So we go up this narrow track that doesn't look like it's seen use in a decade, but people were here before, sometime: Old stone markers are buried in the jungle-compost. And as we crest the top of the ridge, we look down a massive stone staircase upon the plaza of a whole city! Well, a town at any rate.
It gets a bit weird after that. Sure enough, cursed jungle city. Zombies for a decade, free people for one week, no escape. You have to achieve enlightenment to escape, you see. Of course when we went to leave we found out that guards had been posted, mystical forces raised, and we were trapped too.
And, wouldn't you know it, just as we completed the trials required (including sporting a nice new BALD haircut) and we all were about to be granted the secret of enlightenment...
...the phone rang. Waking me up. Forever losing to me the key to eternal oneness and suchlike.
"hello, I'd like to talk with you about how the spirituality has been taken out of this cristmas season..."
enlightenment,
dreams,
nonsense
