Friends being at each other. Sleep patterns being screwed up again.
Good points of this week-so-far? I got to play with cute li'l rats - thanks halfbakedkitty! Saturday was... entertaining as well. Gord's work-friends are fascinating. (hehe... call-center TV show.)

Oh. and of course, the new library. That place is cooooool. Almost makes me wish I'd gotten a laptop, so I could use the shinyshiny WiFi.

Now for the nonsense:
Augh! It's A NULL!
Yes, that's right. Scientists have invented a robot that moves like an amoeba, therefore leaving it with no external spot to connect any kind of sensor or other useful device. All it can do is move. I'm guessing that the horrible squealing noise will come next.

vs.

Speaking of robots: Dr. Wiley has struck again!

As engadget said, " it’s only a matter of time before these robots start taking over our menial tasks (like, say, cutting, or making ice), flip out, and we have to build another robot able to obtain special abilities to take them down one by one."

And speaking of world-comquest... Risk now comes in Google Maps flavour. So you can finally zoom down to the individual igloos in northern canada while the Innu bravely fight off your invading hordes.

And this segue just writes itself:

Finally: One Red Paperclip (the guy trading up from a paperclip to eventually a trade for a complete house; currently on "Electric Generator") is going to be on CBC tomorrow. WHile I'm in class, of course. SHould be slightly more lighthearted than the ongoing Massey Lectures. Wow. I was hoping for a little more honest hope. Mebbe in the last two?

nonsense, red paperclip
