Soooooooo much has gone on in the last month or so since I updated. Kaelyn's birthday was fantastic. Andrea and I took her over to Disney World. We brought her special Ariel costume, crown and wand with us. Kaelyn changed into her outfit before we went to dinner at The Crystal Palace. It was dinner w/Pooh. I do have to admit that the breakfast there was much better than the lunch and for the amount of $$ dinner cost, it should have been excellent. We were all enjoying our meal and the character visits when, lo and behold, my phone rang. It was Kaelyn's brother calling to wish her a happy birthday. Andrea answered since Kaelyn simply refuses to talk on the phone. Some type of argument started to break out and I told Andrea that her sister's birthday dinner was NOT the time to discuss those types of things. And, that was that. And, although Kaelyn didn't speak to her brother, she was overjoyed that he called her. Which, of course made me happy. We stayed until the park closed then I had the daunting task of driving back home. It's only an hour, but I truly despise driving in the dark. Kaelyn conked out and Andrea and I talked the entire way home. We stayed sitting in our driveway for around an hour after we got home just talking. We finally made it into the house at around 2 am.
The following weekend was Kaelyn's birthday party. Kelly surprised us by coming home for the weekend. Kae's party was a huge hit. She had 9 kids there and they had the best time. They were all kids from her preschool except my best friend Suzie's daughter, who goes to gymnastics w/Kae. The party lasted around 2 hours and the kids had a blast dressing up. All the little girls dressed as princesses while the boys dressed as knights. All we had to do was show up and everything was taken care of....right down to the cupcakes for dessert. I guess that's what $350 will get you...a completely planned and executed birthday bash. Kaelyn got a bunch of great gifts and really enjoyed herself. She said next year she wants to have her party there again, but I am thinking we will probably have it at a gymnastics place. But, who knows.
Thank GOD my hero husband was home that weekend....since we had to go through our very first hurricane. I am soooooo happy we got to go through it together. The schools and everything else in all these towns were closed the day Wilma was supposed to hit. Kelly and I stayed up until 4:30 that morning ;) then he let me sleep in and got up w/Kae at 0730. Awwwww...what a sweetie pie! I got up around 11 am, just as Wilma started roaring through our town. That was a sight to see!! We actually went out on our linai for a little while just to watch it. The wind was blowing sooooo hard! It came through as a category 2. And, there were four tornados that hit down in our little town. It was WILD!!
Then, Kelly had to leave to go back to his TDY. He came back home for good a week later. He's been on leave the past two weeks and we've been getting reaquainted with each other. The night he came home Kaelyn woke up right around midnight and waited the half hour for him to get in. She went to him and gave him the biggest hug. She gave him such a loving welcome home! It was adorable. Andrea was out w/her boyfriend and she was happy to see her daddy when she got home. We missed him so much!
Kelly has been so wonderful to me since he got home! He let me sleep in until between 9 and 10 every morning, got Kaelyn up and ready for school on her school days then took her to school. She actually didn't even want me taking her to school. She said she wanted her daddy to do it! And, he watched her while I went to the gym several days. He really, really spoiled me to pieces! It was fantastic!! Oh.....and while he was gone he sent us a box. He sent Kaelyn a huge ty kitty, Andrea a cute floppy little puppy, and he sent me a Boyd's Bear. He also gave me two Boyd's Bears the night he came home...... awwwwww!!
And, I told him I was sick of always needing someone to watch Kaelyn while I went to the gym so he let me join a gym. So now I go in the mornings m/w/fri when she's at school and then again in the evenings m/w/fri for an abs class and a muscle toning class. It's only been 2 weeks of this workout schedule for me and already you can see the definition in my arms. I am loving it...(and so is Kelly!)!!
And....onto our big news.....last night Kelly, Kaelyn, Andrea and I went to get our new TATTOOS!! Yes, that's right, my daughter and I got matching tattoos!!!!!!! How adorable is that! She was so excited, it was unbelievable! I made her go first so she wouldn't chicken out. We picked out a butterfly that we both liked, then the tattoo artist said he'd draw up a picture. I was kind of apprehensive about that, but once I saw the picture I was excited. It was so much prettier than any of the ones we had seen. It was beautiful! So Andrea got hers on her left foot and I got mine on my right. They are the same exact butterfly, but the coloring is just a tad different. Let me tell ya, a tattoo on the foot is PAINFUL!!!!!!!!!
Owieeeeeeeeeee!!! Poor Kelly.....first Andrea about squeezed his hand off, then I about squeezed his hand off!! He's a toughie, so he handled it well. Of course once the outline was done, it was a little less painful. Not really though! The whole thing hurt like crazy! But, it was well worth it. Andrea LOVES hers and I LOVE mine! They both look beautiful!!!!! Kaelyn watched us both get them and she was extremely curious about the whole thing. She was right near both of our feet, watching the entire thing. She's so cute! Our feet hurt a little bit today, but it's not too bad! Andrea was so excited to go to school and show off her new tattoo to all her friends! She was psyched because she got one before her best friend did. They all loved it!
I went to the gym this morning, came home for an hour and packed up a lunch for Kaelyn. Then I picked her up to school and followed one of the other moms over to this park we had never been to. We met up with another mom I really like and I was officially invited to join their Mommy's group! There's about 10 women in it, and they were all so sweet. I am going to have so much fun!!! Tonight I headed to the gym at around 5:45, took my classes, and came home around 8 pm. Now my arms and abs are killing me! But, it's soooooo worth it!
This weekend we are going to go get our new Xmas tree. I'm kinda bummed since we have to buy an artificial one. I always LOVE getting fresh Xmas trees. They just do not stay fresh down here because of the heat. And, they are incredibly expensive. We are going to get a 9 foot tree since we have such high ceilings in our family room. We are going to put it up this weekend too! That will be so much fun!
Well......it's really late so I will be ending my little update here. Happy reading!!!!
Ciao
