May 5, 2013 will be the 21st anniversary of "Dark Knight," the Forever Knight series premiere. May 18, 2013 will be the 17th anniversary of "Last Knight," the Forever Knight series finale. And 2013 will bring the fourth round of fkficfest/

First of all, a big thanks for being our mod again and for providing this playground for us devoted FK writers.

Exchange/Challenge: I think an exchange offers a greater diversity in stories. While a challenge is certainly interesting to read about one topic from different views, the stories might turn out more or less similar. I'd stick to the scheme exchange on FKFicFest and the occasional challenge on FKCommentFic like the Mystletoe challenge around Xmas (for which I unfortunately couldn't find the time to contribute something due to stocking committments)

Story length: I prefer stories with a plot and that requires mostly a certain length. Hence I'd stick with the 1,000 word minimum in order to get that plot properly established. For the same reason, I voted against two shorter stories.

Due date: July and August would work for me best. I won't have computer access for the most part of September, which makes writing and reading impossible in that month. I recall that I had trouble focusing on the writing last year because we had ( ... )

Good call! I had done that in 2010 and 2011, but when I skipped it in 2012, of course that was when a problem arose. I will definitely either email individual confirmations or list players in a post and ask all players to ensure that their name appears... or both.

In answer to some questions in the survey's free-text field so far:

Yes, I always announce the stories on ForKni-L as well as LJ and DW. I should have mentioned that in the survey question.
Crossovers have been disallowed because there are no shortages of crossovers and crossover-friendly venues in fandom, while there is a dire shortage of new FK stories. I believe that allowing crossovers would dilute the game more than it would attract new players. However, if anyone sees evidence otherwise, please share.
For 2013, if we have door prizes, I'll define them in the rules up front to help avoid misunderstandings. No more surprises! :-)
