Tamsin's morning ritual was more or less set in stone: she rolled out of bed, she stumbled downstairs, she put some food in her mouth, then she headed back upstairs to find less comfortable but more flattering clothes. This ritual proceeded more or less apace, as she squinted in the mirror once, yanked on a t-shirt, and then headed downstairs ( Read more... )

Yeah, have fun trying that today, Tamsin.

Another deeply unimpressed child wandered into the house in search of someone who might have been her mother. "Hi, mom."

Hi, other child that Ylva was judging for existing.

"There's two of you," Tamsin said. She eyeballed both of them, unimpressed. "Please tell me I didn't have twins."

"Not as far as I know," Dagny said, though she was glaring at Ylva and her judgement now.

"I'm an only child." And awesome. So awesome. See how awesome she was?

"Oh, good," Tamsin said sarcastically. "So I have two fake children from two fake futures. Great. Any chance I can let you two fight it out to the death?"

"I'm not fake," Ylva said, rolling her eyes. "I'm from an alternate timeline. Maybe."

Someone got daddy's too-smart-to-not-get-in-trouble.

"And I'd win anyway."

"I dunno, Dagny over here looks like she knows which ribs to shiv between," Tamsin said, crossing her arms. "Of course, you look like a biter."

Ylva just smiled at that to show off strong teeth for biting.

"Okay, she definitely has those on you," Tamsin said, leaning forward to look at him. "Nice."

"It was that or let dad lojack me." He did it anyway. Look, your kid gets kidnapped a few times and you get a little frantic about making sure they stay safe.

"Ugh, men," Tamsin said.

She had to get this out before asking, "Who's your - ugh - daddy?"

"Tony Stark." And it was nice to see her mom had in no way changed. "But I found you first. So here I am."

"Tony Stark wishes he'd hit this," Tamsin muttered. (He probably did.) "There you are. There's food or whatever in the kitchen. Don't touch the booze."

Ylva made a face because that was beyond gross, Tamsin.

"I don't like time travel," she decided firmly, stomping off to get herself some breakfast. Stomping might have been her general mode of walking, rather than being in a mood, though.

Dagny crossed her arms. "Well," she said, condescendingly, "You'll just have to get used to it. It's part of this stuff."

Or so Kenzi had told her. Repeatedly.

"That's why I don't like it," Ylva replied with an unsaid 'duh' in her tone. Oh, sibling love. "And it's alternate timelines because none of us exist, but we all exist at the same time depending on where you are."

Yeah, she probably needed to spend less time with Valeria Richards.
