Amazingly the album debut at No.4 on Oricon Chart on its first week (the Billboard in Japan), for the first time to made on top 10 (let alone top 5) for a long time ^^;; That's bizzare...
ohhh really? this album sold REALLY well for them. it was still in the top 10 for like 2 weeks after release o.O; i haven't seen any other jrock act achieve that recently \O.O/ JP likes their goth hahaa 8D;
my very first impressions were similar. Sometimes Gesshoku reminds me of Siouxsie and the Banshees, like the vibe of Kaleidoscope + 'Kiss Them for Me'. But yes, I can definitely get Mask out of it, too.

I believe Mona Lisa Overdrive debuted at #7, not sure...but dropped down quickly.

my very first impressions were similar.
