My first Halloween. My first Halloween and it had to be the proverbial wet fart of nights. I hear it's supposed to be a night of spooky fun. I noticed for some people it descended into a night of Drama. The night of a thousand "Fuck My Life"'s.
I can see what my Palascqua infatuated friend blogged ('scuse me, "Tumbled") about, the fun in Halloween is the wandering in costume, engorging ourselves in candy. And the Great Pumpkin. I never managed to get into a club that night, but I just know they're packt like sardines, and I NEVER liked those. I had fun simply by wandering the Clarke Quay area, seeing Jokers, Witches, Michael Jacksons, Hulks, Mummies, Stormtroopers, Narutos, Pikachus, Marios, even Scrabble Pieces. My favourite was the girl in a Kissing Booth box, offering 10 bucks for a kiss. My least favourite was the Mat and Minah couple wandering around sniggering at all these "fools" wasting their time dressing up.
I've always thought Halloween's the perfect time for a private house party. By the pool. Dancing manically, sure, but with some time and place to just sit quietly and chill. And I guess this is very much a 23-year-old person talking here. Still voraciously looking for a party, but just as much looking for some quiet time with friends.
