Reading this brought a tear to my eye:

One of the best parts of the BeOS was exactly how pervasively multi-threaded it was. Thousands of threads all over the place. If you coded a Hello World application, you ended up with a program that had no less than 3 threads... automatically. The entire system would smoothly use multiple processors effortlessly and would scale instantly as cores were enabled or disabled. It was the most inspired design in a desktop OS that I've ever seen and the likes of it have not been matched.
If Apple goes that route, the Mac OS has some very interesting times ahead.
