So I get the feeling that at some point, I should update this little thing, no?
I'm quite active on my selling account....I sort of tend to forget that this one's here.
Last night we went and saw Hank III, which was nice. THEN we attempted to drive home in swirling snow that was an inch thick on the interstate,
So we stopped at the worst goddamned Days Inn I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. Lucky us.
The wallpaper was peeling in several places.
There were stains on the walls and ceiling.
The caulk was rotting (ROTTING) away from around the window.
The heater smelled like something dead when we started it.
All three chairs in the room were thoroughly STAINED and/or covered in cigarette ash.
Every flat surface needed a wipe down.
The carpet had very very obviously not been vaccuumed in quite some time.
The rubber drain stop for the tub was cozied in with the toiletries. And it was NOT clean.
The phone was almost coated in ick. It also had to be held a certain way in order to work.
No snack machines, no nearby restaurants, no room service. We were fucking starving.
Shitty cable.
Manager was supposed to give us a AAA discount (and he said he did) but didn't.
Beds were so suspicious looking that we slept ON TOP of the comforter WITH OUR CLOTHES ON.
I actually hung my purse from a hanger because I didn't want it to touch any of the surfaces in the room. Now we're waiting for Days Inn to call us back so we can see about getting our money back (40 goddamn dollars) because we would have left if the weather hadn't prevented us. The moral of the story? Stay the fuck away from the Days Inn at exit 37 on Interstate 40.
