#118 COALs Camp

I'm going to blog about camp in great detail but it will never do any justice to the camp itself because no words will ever explain and picture what happened, thanks to my lacklustre vocabulary. Anyway, here goes..
happy babies/gryphon
1st day was basically theory, low elements was hilarious, making amanda a dead corpse who "died for a glorious cause" and muting kelsey and nikki was funny hahahah but nitro crossing was....EPIC. Me, rach, ming and yiihwei died laughing and i still laugh while thinking of that day :') Me and hwei trying to swing swing but none of them caught us and we ended up in the acid! Freaking hilarious. And before that, the scotch tape game!! Jiaqian's word was "instructor wei ern" and her questions were:
i) Have we done it before?
ii) Are we going to do it later?
HAHAHAHAHAH high e after that, the campers did belaying! Sad, i wanted to belay but oh well its their belay school so....... Yup dinner, pre-cf night (where gryphon did really well!) and debrief.
Second day was wilderness! And we did touch football which was frustrating due to all the unstandardized rules and gryphon kept losing so we tried to tabulate the scores...
"Gryphon, let's tabulate the scores! 0+0 equals to.....?"
"ZEROOOOOOOOO! HAHAHAHAH"
My campers laugh at everything. Funny bunch of kids. Still....A for effort! Abseiled, burnt two hours under the sun and i had no idea how in the world Hariza managed to sleep up there. Talked to gryphon and some of the teachers, and Amanda kept on dropping the figure of 8 so i kept glaring hahahaha it was really funny. After that went on wilderness with Mr Ng but due to the bus issue we didn't really do much........and we went on the wallace loop. ~__~
"So, how many groups went on the wrong trail?"

"EH ONLY YOU ALL EH HAHAHAHAH"
Yup so got on the AP bus to prepare for cf night. Which shall be mentioned below.
Third day was really really pleasant :') Gryphon's breakfast tasted......exquisite. Hahaha got them to feed everyone (esp instructors) and the pig bestfriend of mine ate up all the baked beans.....sigh. Talked and had interviews, big sweep, debrief where we bullshitted x99999 and then it was break camp :( everything felt like it was over so fast!! Scolded gryphon and gave them their presents HAHAHAH it was funny. Their faces.
Campfire night/disaster areas
Tent pitching was a downright mess - and Rachel and cc dept was right enough to scream at us during debrief. From the bottom of my ge
~*Highlight of the camp~* Campfire night was a disaster. I guess we were over ambitious. Sham said we take risks but what if our risks were unmeasured? It was really selfish to reject our fireball five minutes before cf night, i'll give your that Mr C but in a way it was our fault. Why didnt we even think of a backup plan? I don't even practice what i preach to my campers. Leaders had to step in and run around the store to help. Our l e a d e r s. It was okay in the end, but the faces of the instructors and leaders........i will never forget.
Memories fade and the little details are forgotten, but I don't think i'll forget how Cf night made me feel. Like shit.
COALs might have been a bit of a mess and a whole lot exhausting, but i wont trade it for any other experience in this world. Skipping lunch and dinner during wilderness and running on only 5 hours of sleep for two days, sleeping anywhere and everywhere (outside the store, canteen, behind a pole...), SUDS, running around in and out of the store, countless stay strong hugs from instructors, endless laughter from gryphon.........we made memories :')

Thank you for being the sweetest campers ever! Overall best group award, we did it guys! Thanks for the countless laughter especially during nitro crossing (you all are fail fishermen) and sorry for all the scoldings during camp! It's just that we just want you to learn from your mistakes and be better people, really. I'm really sorry, especially to Rachel and Kelsey (can see y'all really wanted to try abseiling) that you guys didnt get to abseil.......my sincerest apologies. I just hoped you guys enjoyed camp as much as we did with y'all. Don't let the gryphon spirit die ok! Black green shirt ftw!!! <3 You guys are great yourselves, just the way you are :') (that song was lovely, really. thank you guys :'))

Instructors:
There are /so/ many things i could say right now but i just want to say a huge thank you to every. single. one. of you. We've been through thick and thin (mostly thin...or whichever is bad) but most imptly, we've been through it together. Store check and proposal checking and refreshers after refreshers and 5hr recces....been there done that. Sleeping late, sleeping everywhere, sleeping outside store, sleeping at wallace education centre (seriously oics? HAHAAHAHA)...memories. All of us had our shortcomings during camp and were just generally cranky at each other but i just want to thank every single one of you, for the sole purpose of your existence~ All 30 of you!! I love you!! ~♥
Special special extra special thanks to amirah, siming, audrey, alala, sharon for helping out with cf stuff, simhong for your constant words of strength (really, if not for your words i would have just exploded) and especially especially x288383 SUDS. ♥♥♥
Anyway,
Ms Poon said this little thing when just the both of us were watching NCC's fancy drill during open house just now.
