My OCD need to read all away messages that are posted has gotten worse. Especially because AOL cuts them off after a few lines, so I have to sign on AIM every time some one else goes away. My list of OCD needs is pretty high right now.

We had a guest speaker today talking about the current situation in some African countries, including Rwanda, Somalia, the Congo, Liberia and Zaire. I found it completely fascinating and I'm certainly going to buy his book, "The Graves Are Not Yet Full" -- his name is Bill Berkeley. He has a tremendous amount of experience traveling around African war zones and has interviewed a ton of important people. Some people on amazon.com reviewed the book as playing the blame game and demonizing the West, but I supremely believe that the West has a lot more to do with global politics than some assume. Anyway, going to see this speaker just made me appreciate Fieldston a little bit. I can't wait for college where this is a common occurrence (guest speakers that is, not appreciating Fieldston).

I'm going to Chicago next Thursday and Friday. Partially to miss school, I won't lie. I'm also not going to school tomorrow because it's a late start, and Morse gave us a free (g-band) and then we have f-band which is my normal free, and then we have funny time. And at that point, all I have left is Spanish and Civil War and I'd like to not miss Civil War but I don't mind THAT much. I feel a little bad though because I left school early on Tuesday, missing those two classes, and neither met today. And then tomorrow I'll miss them again. But let me reiterate, I don't feel that bad.

It's late. 9:30 PM is completely bed time.
