What's the strangest way you've discovered an artist or a band you've then gotten into?

SModcast, one of my favourite podcasts, has musical beds under the talking, and one of the songs in the musical bed is heard in the beginning and the ending of each podcast without any talking over it. One of those songs was particularly catchy so I ended up googling the lyrics and found out the song was Town Called Malice, originally by The Jam. The version used on the podcast was by McFly (yeah I know) and according to Wikipedia, a Welsh band named Kids in Glass Houses had also covered it recently. I youtubed their version, but since the video had such shitty audio, I ended up going to their Myspace instead.

And I really liked what I heard.

It's just upbeat and incredibly catchy and melodic and strangely unclean. So my thing. (There's more on their myspace and youtube if you got curious.)

What are your stories?
